Instant inspiration 5

October 5th, 2008

“If I’d asked my customers what they wanted, they’d have said a faster horse.” – Henry Ford

This weeks inspiration comes from a famous quote by a famous entrepreneur. We all know about the importance of listening to our customers but what happens when you think outside the box. What happens when your vision is bigger than that of your customers… - potentially great things. I say potentially because the project to deliver a new product to market requires careful implementation and needs to be backed up with a rigorous test and measure process. We’ve all seen failures like the Sinclair C5, but every now and then brilliance emerges and leads the market.

Great does not have to be complicated.

Great does not have to be complicated. Keep things simple and have clarity in your product. Innovate, deliver simple solutions that excite the soul. Do it often and you will have a brand.

Want to know more about establishing a brand? Start by reading this post on USP’s.

If you are experiencing success in this economic climate through innovation and exciting your customers we’d love to hear about those successes. Please comment below.

If you are struggling whereas before you were surviving read this post. It might just trigger your survival plan.

Oooh, now you’ve challenged us! Come up with some ideas ourselves??

No specific photo biz ideas to share just now….

Despite the economic woes, keep doing what we’re doing, targeting the right clients, providing the very best service and products we can.

Don’t be tempted to go down the heavy discount route. Control costs, eliminate waste. Stay positive. Clients like positive people.

And ignore the “We’re all dooomed” nae sayers, and stick with the HHGTTG advice. “Don’t Panic” .
