Hi Michael,

I use them in Ettl or Ittl depending upon which system I am using. Try setting your camera metering to matrix or multi-patterned. I have no problems getting great results with either my Nikon D700/ SB-800/ SB-900 or my Canon 5Dmk2/ 580EX11/ 430EX11. More info is here:

Damien, in your 2-point lighting with speedlites do you use the flashes in ettl mode or manual?
I have a hard time with consistency when I do it in ettl mode. A different crop, angle or zoom and the flashes seem to live their own lives in terms of output. I know it's supposed to be like that but how do you cope with this? How do you obtain consistent lighting in ettl-mode with your 2-point lighting? I tried spotmetering and that helped a bit but still...

Sarah, thank you for your kind comments, we are delighted you now have extra skills to take your pictures to another level and you found it a fun day too:)
Monika, you are right of course, everyone sees different pictures, which of course leads to us all producing exciting images. These can be further enhanced by great post production. Cherish the Dress™ images are the perfect type for this, offering a degree of enhanced reality. The master of course is Marko. Why not take your workshop images to another level at a Marko masterclass :)
Rob, thank you for such a nice endorsement, it is inspiring to receive such positive feedback, and I can see from your blog exactly how you benefited from your workshop with us...exciting stuff well done

This workshop was an amazing experience and far more valuable than its actual cost (though please don't increase them:)

Having watched all the excellent Lovegrove dvds I was surprised there was no overlap of information and such a depth of new and valuable technique and information. I expected to pick up some working practices that would speed me up out in the field and a few new techniques, but what I got from this FAR exceeded that.

Both you and Chris were so open and helpful both in technique and business advice which again is over and above what anyone could expect.

This has had a major impact on both my photography and confidence which was very evident in my two weddings this weekend which are on my blog if interested. My business has been stuck on this rung of the ladder and I now feel able to move my business onto the next level, I can't even begin to imagine what an effect something like evolve must have? I better start saving!

Thanks

Thanks for an excellent day.

I wish it could last longer - the venue and all the tutorials were fantastic. What surprises me is the fact that even though we were taking photos in the same place all of us saw things differently. That I suppose is the photographer's eye - seeing the same things from a different angle/perspective.

Now I need to learn how to postprocess the images so well.

Thank you,
Chris, Damien, and everyone else involved in the day, it really was a fantastic, fun filled day, I learnt such a lot, and it was made easy with such good teachers and friendly photographers. I look forward to using my new skills.

Absolutely stunning work again Damien and Chris. You guys are so inspiring it hurts...:-)
Such creative imagery within the confines of the hotel is an area of talent where both you guys excel, yet the shots maintain an artistic quality and simplicity that just grabs the viewers attention and pulls them in.
Continue to inspire, teach and share and I'm sure you'll gain even more followers.
I'm off to experiment again, and hopefully, one day, perfect my technique...:-)

Love the boldness and lines of the reflection shot. The stair shot looks so natural, almost looks like natural light creating those fantastic shadows. Looking forward to your Hampton Manor workshop!
