Jo de Banzie ~ Child portraits workshop pictures
April 17th, 2011
Jo is wonderful, I thought I’d just get that off my chest. She has amazing clients because she is an amazing person who can use a camera artistically to capture unique images. Her product is way more than photography. It is a lifestyle capture, with a bit of fantasy, a story laced with art. It gives me great pleasure to share 50 of her recent Child Portrait workshop images with you. The first set of 25 are of Poppy and George…

1 A fusion of colour. A mellay of hues within a limited palette. There's way more to a Jo-de Banzie portrait than is first seen.

5 If this was my daughter I'd have this photograph as a 50" x 30" canvas in my hallway. I know just how good that feeling is of playing with water in a pair of wellies. Mine weren't spotted though

50 Devine inspiration. Beauty to be appreciated on any scale. A fabulous picture that would lift any room it was displayed in.

Well worth experiencing this one with Jo. Great value and I would be more than happy to do another workshop with Jo and Damian.

I’ve had the distinct pleasure of being on a workshop with Jo in the past, Jo and her work remain as one of my strongest sources of inspiration. She was the first person to show me how to “see the light”!
If anyone is reading this and is “on the fence” about attending a workshop, don’t be!

Hi from sunny Abu Dhabi!
Thanks so much for all the lovely comments. I had a fantastic two days with gorgeous models and equally gorgeous (but in a different way!) delegates. Thank you for making the workshop such a joy.
Photographing kids is all about empathy. Forget the clever stuff – the control has to be in the planning of the locations, backgrounds and clothes. But don’t underestimate the importance of this.
Beyond that you just have to let go and have some fun with what you have….oh, and practice, practice, practice, just like your piano teacher used to say…! Jo

Jo, You were an absolute inspiration and i learnt so much. Putting it all into practice and it’s working! The light, the clothing, the empathy most of all. It’s creating innocence. Love your images! x
