A few 1 to 1 shoot pictures in colour
April 4th, 2012
About once a week at the moment I’m teaching shooting skills on a 1 to 1 basis. This set of shots were taken in my studio last week using basic Elinchrom kit or Dedo lights owned by my client. This journey of evolution for my client is as exciting for me as it is for him. I wanted to share some colour and energy pictures with you as my blog is looking a bit bland with the current mono look. Enjoy
The life of a photographer is a priviledged one punctuated with beauty, opportunity and creativity. I try never to take it for granted. Please feel free to comment on this shoot.

Great set of photos once again, did you shoot all of them at f2.8 or were some taken at f4.0?
Regards,
Michael

Hi Michael,
Thanks for your kind words. Some shots were taken at f/11. These were lit with strobes in softboxes (2-6) and the others were at f/2.8 and lit with my clients Dedo tungsten lights.
I hope this helps,
Damien.

Thanks Markus. I try to push myself and my photography. And it’s the encouragement I get from you and the other Prophotonut readers that helps to spur me on.
Kindest regards, Damien

Daminen,
very nice shots.
Do you know which kind of Dedo’s your client had (watt…)?
Thanks very much!
Markus

Hi Markus, Thank you. The Dedos we used are the 150w tungsten variety with transformers attached to the lamp body. They are fine for video at 1/25th sec shutter speed and stills if you don’t mind a high 800 ISO and above wide open with low shutter speed. My favourite Dedos are the Sundance series. A thoroughly modern light that is bright enough to be versatile. Kind regards, Damien.

Hello Damien. These are great shots as usual. Love your closing comment: ‘ The life of a photographer is a priviledged one punctuated with beauty, opportunity and creativity.’
I admire your art in composition, lighting and attention to detail in 12. 17 and 19. I have two flash triggers and these pictures above have inspired and challenged me. Thanks for sharing.
