Have your name or logo embossed into the grain of these fine leather portfolios to make the best possible first impression. Whatever you shoot these portfolios are an ideal way to showcase your work and they are now available online.
For five years now our portfolios have gained recognition around the globe as a well presented body of work that screams ‘wow’ to our clients. Now it’s your chance to get hold of these lavish, splendid beauties. The chunky leather covers and durable acetate sleeves really show off photographic prints to their full potential. Photographers often wrongly believe that our show prints must be very expensive in order to exhibit the clarity and gloss in the way that they do. “It’s not the prints” I tell them “It’s the portfolio”. The truth is that every print in our Lovegrove Portfolios came from a UK lab called ProAm Imaging. Each 18″ x 12″ print cost just £1.25 and the presented finish is superb. The crystal clear acetate sleeves bring the pictures to life. The blacks seem deep and the colour more saturated giving a luscious deep gloss look.
In order to enable you to give your prints the presentation they deserve, we have teamed up with Plastic Sandwich to offer you a complete range of folios online at the best possible price – Guaranteed.
In order to help you get out there and parade your swanky new folios straight away, we will give you our secret recipe portfolio actions. Marko and I devised a set of rather nifty Photoshop actions that will take any picture in any format and prepare it for print by going through these various stages…
• Each image is first flattened
• Then it is made 8 bit
• And it is converted to RGB
• It is then resized to fit on the sheet with an exact minimum border and at an exact print resolution*
• It undergoes a subtle unsharp mask to counteract the slight softening during the resizing stage
• It then has a Lovegrove special one way blured stroke border applied
• It is then converted to the lab colour profile or has a gamma adjustment applied*
• And finally each file is saved in a new folder as a jpeg at maximum quality, ready for the lab.
*This action is currently available in Loxley & ProAm imaging guises. The Loxley action has a small gamma lift in the shadows and midtones and the ProAm action uses the labs own custom profile to do the same task. Incidentally our screens are calibrated using a top of the range spectrophometer from Eye One and the simple but effective Eye One Match software. The actions are unlocked so that you can edit them as you wish.
The actions will be emailed to you together with our test file for a lab line up within 24 hours of placing your order.
Your prints can be easily updated and swapped around in these portfolios making them an extremely versatile tool to help convert your prospects into paying clients. So put some wow into your presentation and showcase your best work in a Lovegrove Leather Portfolio.

Just received my folio from Plastic Sandwich and I love it. Great service, they even phoned me to let me know it had been dispatched. One quick question, what is your preference for prints lustre or gloss?
Thanks
Louise
Hi
Just to put my 10p worth in, my last 5 clients all booked me on the spot at our first meeting. I am convinced it was because of the way my images were presented in the plastic sandwhich!! A great investment..

Hi Anthony,
I’m not quite sure what you mean about ‘process’. A Plastic Sandwich portfolio is a leather cover that contains sleeves that prints are slipped into. Your A4 print outs would certainly look great in one of these.
I hope this helps. Damien.
I have a series of laminated ads which I have colour-copied down to A4 for easier transportation. I also have a series of A4 colour run-outs of PDFs. Could this process help improve the quality of the prints in any way?
Many thanks.
Hi Lee,
It’s quite hard to show the edge effect of the border but I added a couple of shots of the 18×12 action results to the bottom of the post above. I hope this helps.
Damien.
I’d be intrigued to see how one of your pages actually looks with the border and the size relationship between page and image. 12″x18″ seems quite big for a portfolio but I seem to remember yours didn’t feel this way so you must have got it right.
Any chance of popping an example of a page on your site. I’m not sure what the “blurred stroke border” looks like but it sounds interesting.
I saw your albums at the SWPP show recently but I didn’t take enough notice it would seem…
Certainly the Plastic Sandwich range is one of the finest available – particularly with an embossed leather cover.
Just want to add to this post that I’ve recieved my Plastic Sandwich portfolio binder and it is absolutely stunning!
So pleased to hear about your endorsement for ProAm, I’ve used them for a couple of years now and have been really impressed with the turnaround and quality of their product.
