I thought I’d share with you my planning process for my upcoming heART of portraiture event. I am shooting three consecutive workshops with the soon to be supermodel Chloe Jasmine Whichello. Here are my ideas…
Well to be more correct, here are our ideas. Chloe and I shared many conversations and pictures via FTP and email in the process of making these mood boards. We are thinking of creating natural looks with minimal make up and beautifully controlled wild hair. I want to get far away from the Fashion Fusion style that shows the clothes in their entirety in a brightly lit environment and get into dark spaces. I just want to use chinks of light from nearly closed curtains for some shots and keep the emphasis on feminine beauty.

Pin board 1. This is a collection of ideas pulled off the net from a few of the world's finest art and beauty photographers. I love the poses, hair, makeup and scene placement. The idea is not to recreate these shots but to use them as inspiration during the shoot to help create the mood of a shot through Chloe's expression or the use of light and space.
For the clothes, Chloe and I are thinking along the lines of; a white blouse or long shirt, a plain vest top/nightwear top, a full tutu layered type skirt in white, white veil type fabric plus clips, white or denim jeans and a feminine nightwear baby doll type dress.
For props we could have a floppy hat and maybe a black polka dot veil.
W propose to shoot implied topless for quite a few of the set ups each day, but with an emphasis on art and definitely not glamour. Chloe will be the star, not the location or the clothes. I am delighted to have booked the fabulous Vicky Waghorn to look after Chloe’s hair and makeup throughout the shoot.

Pin board 2. This shows the extremes of picture styles with anonymity on the left and character intensity on the right. Chloe Jasmine will come with ideas too and together we aim to create magic.
There are just a few places left on the workshops. All the details are here as a PDF and if you are interested in attending any of the workshops please ring Blaise on 01275 853204 or email her right away. The web page detailing my workshop and those of Jo De Banzie and Tamara Peel is here.
Its going to be fabuous quite frankly.
