I’ve just received my pre production Lee Sev5n dedicated adapter ring for the X100. It replaces the Fuji adapter and allows the Lee filter to sit nice and close to the front of the lens. I recommend using the hard grad ND filters as they have a perfect transition distance for the X100.

The Seven Five gradient filters come in soft or hard. The hard 0.6 ND grad is in the foreground and a soft ND grad is in the background.
Graduated filters have become part of my standard kit for location portrait shooting, not just to cut back sky exposure but to adjust the tonal range in the image. I often use them inverted to reduce the density of the foreground etc. I was finding myself using the grad filters in Lightroom a bit too much and I wanted to get the shot nearer in camera. There is something more organic about the Lee optical graduated filter and it has a far more pleasing look than computer made gradients. This probably has something to do with the hand dyeing process.
I’ll be posting examples of my filtered in camera pictures over the coming months. The X100 adapter goes on sale soon.
When are the LEE filters comming in? :-)
I am very interested!
Hi Eefje,
The Lee Seven5 series is now all launched and available. I aim to become a stockest in the coming months but I have negotiations with camera companies to complete first.
Kind regards,
Damien.
